As an Account Manager you will be responsible for the primary client sales and service activities for the assigned book of business, provide technical advice to clients, account round, upsell, cross sell, and support the objectives of the business unit.
Key responsibilities
Client Service - Operations:
- Lead responsibility of the agency's Account Review process
- Be proactive and anticipate the needs of the client while providing exceptional and distinctive service
- Exhibit comprehensive insurance knowledge including but not limited to coverage, coverage recommendations and coverage comparisons
- Seize opportunities for upselling, account rounding, cross selling and obtaining referrals leading to success in meeting assigned goals
- Participate in special assignments as requested by management
Technical Support - Operations:
- Maintain current knowledge & demonstrate efficient use of our client management and rating systems
- Timely management of correspondence as required by department, including email and client document management system
- Understands and adheres to documented procedures and employee practices of the organization
- Knowledge of carrier websites including rating, endorsement processing, billing and retrieval of documents
- Seize training opportunities to further personal and professional development
- Support team by building strong relationships and sharing knowledge and useful techniques
Acquire New Business - Business Development:
- Achieve new business goals
- Develop and maintain a personal strategy to insure continued profitable growth
- Maintain and work an active list of prospects
- Create relationships with staff in other departments & actively work together to cross sell other agency lines of business
- Present consultative proposals to prospects
Consultative Selling - Business Development:
- Responsible for comprehensive risk analysis and risk management of clients and prospects
- Acquire all necessary information necessary for comprehensive quote
Marketing & Negotiating - Business Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with carrier representatives
- Maintain knowledge of markets and carrier appetites
- Exhibit skills necessary to negotiate desirable outcomes by anticipating carrier perspective
Personal Attributes - Operations:
- Strong verbal and written skills including the ability to present and express insurance concepts to non-industry personnel in layman's terms
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy as well as organized, self-starting and relationship building skills
- Ability to shift focus and manage time independently in order to prioritize work load and to meet time sensitive deadlines
- Lead by example
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors' Degree
Experience: 1-2 Years' experience in Property Casualty Insurance in an Account Manager, Sales or Marketing role
Credentials: New York State P&C License
Capabilities: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Expertise in Microsoft Office products
