In this prominent leadership position, you will act as the Head of Life Capital Advisory for North America and be an essential member of the regional Aon Life Solutions leadership team. You will lead the commercial and strategic efforts for Aon's life insurance M&A and Bermuda-based capital and advisory services in North America.Aon is in the business of better decisions

What the day will look like
- Lead and coordinate the initiation and implementation of complex M&A, legacy block, and capital-motivated transactions for life and annuity insurers, reinsurers, and private capital platforms.
- Build and deliver Bermuda-focused capital and reinsurance solutions, working closely with Aon's global Life, Reinsurance, and Capital Advisory teams.
- Lead and coordinate Bermuda-focused actuarial and reporting support for clients, including outsourced services to help insurers align with Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirements (BSCR), Scenario-Based Approach (SBA) provisions, and other relevant Bermuda regulatory and filing rules.
- Function as a dependable senior advisor to CEOs, CFOs, Chief Actuaries, CROs, Heads of M&A, and Heads of Capital Management, guiding them through reshaping their balance sheets, raising or redeploying capital, and improving risk transfer.
Strategic Growth and Leadership (Team-Focused)
- Help develop the strategic vision and growth plan for Life Capital Advisory in North America. Focus especially on M&A and Bermuda-based solutions while collaborating with other Life Solutions leaders.
- Participate in the formulation and supervision of a joint pipeline of capital-focused and strategic deals, involving acquisitions and divestitures of life and annuity platforms or blocks, reinsurance-backed capital solutions, legacy block / run-off and in-force management transactions, along with capital raising, restructuring, and balance sheet optimization activities.
- Work as part of a collaborative leadership group to achieve shared revenue and P&L objectives. These objectives span both advisory and PathWise solutions. Align regional business development with global strategy.
Leadership in Mergers & Acquisitions and Transaction Advisory
- Lead the full cycle of transaction advisory for life insurance and annuity clients, including opportunity identification and idea generation, deal structuring and solution development, valuation, capital and earnings impact analysis, and negotiation support and execution.
- Coordinate and interpret embedded value / appraisal value analyses, capital and solvency impacts, and economic value creation for both buyers and sellers.
- Work closely with internal and external legal, tax, and accounting advisors to ensure complete structuring and efficient execution.
Bermuda-Based Capital & Reinsurance Solutions
- Build and position Bermuda-centered capital solutions for life and annuity writers, including Bermuda-based reinsurance vehicles and structures, capital-efficient reinsurance arrangements and sidecars, and structures responsive to Bermuda Solvency Capital requirements and related regulatory frameworks.
- Lead and grow Aon's Bermuda actuarial and reporting support for life and annuity writers. Develop and deliver outsourced appointed actuary, actuarial, and regulatory reporting services. Support clients' Bermuda operations through BSCR calculations, stress and scenario testing, capital adequacy assessments, and related documentation. Provide support for SBA and other statutory and regulatory filings. Coordinate with clients' internal teams and Bermuda regulators.
- Integration of Bermuda regulatory, capital, and actuarial requirements into broader capital optimization, reinsurance, and M&A solutions for clients operating across multiple jurisdictions.
- Drive PathWise sales opportunities as a strategic complement or alternative to outsourced services.
- Contribute to PathWise as the market-leading actuarial modeling platform for Bermuda solutions.
- Collaborate with Aon's Bermuda and global Reinsurance teams to bring coordinated, cross-jurisdictional solutions that connect North American insurers, Bermuda platforms, and global capital providers.
- Employ your expertise in regulatory capital systems (e.g., US RBC and related, Bermuda Solvency Capital, economic capital concepts) to support clients in improving capital efficiency while addressing risk.
Client & Market Leadership
- Develop and sustain strong, senior-level connections with CEOs, CFOs, Chief Actuaries, CROs, Heads of M&A, Heads of Capital Management, Heads of Legacy/Run-Off, private equity sponsors, and other capital providers active in life and annuity.
- Act as a leader with a point of view in the life capital and transaction space by representing Aon at industry events, conferences, and client seminars.
- Help develop white papers, market updates, and internal/external insights on life M&A and capital trends, with a focus on Bermuda and other offshore centers.
- Observe market, regulatory, and capital markets trends affecting life and annuity transactions and capital structures; convert insights into practical ideas for clients and into Aon's product roadmap.
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Take a leading role in the entire sales process for Life Capital Advisory engagements, including identifying, assessing, and pursuing M&A and capital solution opportunities, often in collaboration with other Life Solutions leaders, directing proposal creation, pitch meetings, and commercial negotiations.
- Work closely with colleagues across advisory, PathWise, reinsurance, and other practices to build cohesive, multi-solution offerings.
- Drive ambitious shared revenue targets by growing Aon's presence with leading life and annuity insurers, reinsurers, and Bermuda platforms, identifying cross-sell opportunities that integrate capital advisory, technology, and analytics capabilities.
- Use Aon's analytics, PathWise®, and broader Strategy and Technology capabilities to set apart our capital and transaction offerings.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build and manage a strong Life Capital Advisory group in North America. This team includes senior and mid-level transaction advisors, actuarial and financial modeling experts, and strategic consultants and analysts.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, providing direction on transaction strategy, client interaction, and technical content.
- Foster a collaborative, one-team (Aon United) culture across Aon's Life Solutions, Reinsurance, and other practices, ensuring coordinated, one-Aon delivery to clients and shared success.
Risk, Governance & Compliance - Ensure all advisory and transaction activities meet Aon's standards for independence, quality, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage conflicts, information barriers, and engagement governance, especially on multi-party or market-sensitive transactions.
- Champion consistency, documentation, and quality assurance in methodologies, models, and client deliverables.
Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success
Professional Experience
- Typically 15+ years of experience in life insurance / life reinsurance / capital and transaction advisory, with extensive involvement in life and annuity M&A, portfolio and block transactions, capital-motivated reinsurance solutions and Bermuda-based structures, balance sheet optimization and legacy/run-off solutions.
- Currently working at the Partner, Managing Director, or Principal level, or a similar senior leadership role in a top consulting firm. This includes firms in life insurance advisory, actuarial, or transaction practices. Alternatively, the role may be in a specialist life/annuity M&A or capital advisory boutique, a life insurer, reinsurer, or private equity platform. The position must involve direct responsibility for inorganic growth or capital transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to originate and close multi-million-dollar engagements or transactions, ideally within a team-based or matrixed sales environment.
Technical and Domain Expertise
- Solid knowledge of life and annuity products along with their underlying economics, regulatory capital and solvency systems (such as US RBC and related, Bermuda Solvency Capital, economic capital concepts), reinsurance arrangements frequently applied in life and annuity capital solutions, valuation techniques for life businesses, including embedded value/appraisal value and transaction pricing factors.
- Comfortable guiding teams that carry out actuarial, financial, and capital modeling (hands-on modeling experience is helpful but not essential at this level).
Education and Credentials
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree or equivalent experience in actuarial science, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Professional designations such as FSA/FCIA (or equivalent) and/or CFA or equivalent experience are highly valued but not strictly required if experience is outstanding.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $250,000 to $370,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
