Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Lead or support development and implementation of new projects that support growth initiatives, regulatory filings, policy language, endorsements, and underwriting procedures, ensuring legal review, form control, system updates, and change management are completed in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Collaborates with underwriting, product, compliance, and distribution teams to resolve escalated issues and align on risk strategies.
- Collaborates with underwriting, actuarial, and claims teams to design innovative insurance solutions and develop product specifications, pricing strategies, and policy language.
- Participates in developing product and rate revisions, underwriting guidelines, manuals, and procedures for new and existing territories.
- Works closely with marketing, business development, IT and insurance operations teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product support.
- Participates in the development and presenting of training regarding new products and product changes to internal teams and external agents.
- Stays updated on industry changes, regulatory updates, and market shifts to ensure the product strategy remains forward-thinking and competitive.
- Interprets and applies company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- The person hired for this position will work out of the Lakeland, FL office which offers a hybrid work environment of 4 days in the office and 1 day work from home.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 9 years of related underwriting, technical or product experience.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Advanced technical knowledge of workers compensation line of business. Develops and maintains knowledge of industry laws and regulations. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and across departments.. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions. Demonstrated decision-making ability and customer-centric mindset. Demonstrates excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
