The HR Payroll Consultant II has responsibilities including, but not limited to, acting as a process expert for their respective area of focus; manage projects of low to medium complexity; acting as a consultant to internal and external clients; assist in the design and testing of process and technology improvements required for their specific area of focus; manage small third party relationship, assist in management of larger vendor relationships and track legal changes effecting their work to implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Strong understanding of payroll processes
• Partners with other Centers of Expertise (COE's) on changes to processes surrounding payroll and other COE initiatives (Tuition Reimbursement, Roth 401k)
• Ability to deepen technical understanding of payroll processes through exposure and research.
• Identify and resolve complex problems relevant to specific area of focus
• Acts as a subject matter expert, providing support and consulting to outsourced service providers (IBM, ADP, Equifax) and internal clients (Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Tax...)
• Ability to determine work priorities and timelines including contributions to related projects
• Utilizes subject matter knowledge to act as a resource for team members and others (COEs, third party providers, etc.)
• Uses subject matter expertise to identify issues and implement process improvements and coach less experienced employees to prevent similar issues in the future
• Makes strategic decisions and judgments/recommendations, as appropriate
• Ability to develop skills needed to analyze ambiguous problems by breaking down complex information in a systematic/communicable manner
Education
• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This job does not have supervisory duties.
Education & Experience (in lieu)
• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
