Description
Aon is looking for applicants for the role of Head of Transaction Solutions Tax Credit Financing. Aon is the top broker of tax insurance in North America. The tax group belongs to Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions and is mainly composed of former practicing tax attorneys.Tax insurance is actively applied to support M&A transactions, tax credit investments, and as a corporate risk management solution. However, there is a notable opportunity to expand the adoption of tax insurance across the U.S. and North American region. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and highly motivated to contribute to the growth of this in-demand and fast-growing business.
The Head of TS Tax Credit Financing role reflects the growth of Aon's tax insurance business. Duties involve helping Aon colleagues expand tax insurance adoption among current clients and new prospects. The ideal candidate is a mid-level to senior tax lawyer with significant experience, a broad network, and a record of client-facing tax service delivery. A strong foundation in U.S. federal income taxation and knowledge of general U.S. tax law and assessments, plus tax implications of business transactions, is necessary. Experience in M&A or tax litigation is beneficial, though optional.
The candidate can be stationed in one of several North American Aon offices where AMATS maintains a presence, working alongside existing AMATS tax team members. Travel is likely to be part of the role to support producers and sales activities, and to meet with clients. The position will report to Jessica Harger, Managing Director of Aon's North American Tax Insurance practice.
This position is hybrid and requires you to work on site at our New York office two to three days each week.

- Developing and managing tax insurance programs for Aon's clients
- Assisting the production activities of Aon's retail producers and account executives
- Participating in key tax-related conferences to raise awareness of Aon's tax insurance team and the overall M&A and Transaction Solutions business

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Tax lawyer or tax accountant with substantial experience in practicing tax law
- At least 5 years of applicable work experience, particularly in client-facing roles practicing tax law, demonstrated capacity to grow tax-related business, and previous involvement with tax insurance
- Good network among the legal and business community
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of self-direction and good judgment
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $350,000- $500,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
