This role leads high-priority work and collaborates with stakeholders across underwriting, operations, actuarial, claims, data & analytics, technology, legal and distribution to provide project and thought leadership.
In partnership with senior management, this role drives the planning & execution of projects related to Global Property & Casualty products and Commercial Business Units (National Accounts Property, National Accounts Casualty, Global Marine, Multinational). The role ensures strategic initiatives are well-defined, enables cross-functional alignment and monitors progress to completion to drive accountability and successful delivery. Superior communication, presentation and facilitation skills are required to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive outcomes.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
1. Manage a portfolio of Global Property & Casualty strategic and operational initiatives, assuming varying roles on projects (e.g., lead, advisor, or program oversight) based on business needs.
2. Design and execute project plans in conjunction with senior management; drive consistency in enterprise project management practices through the creation and communication of standardized processes and frameworks
3. Lead cross-functional project teams in defining and executing tactical strategies aligned to Global Property & Casualty goals and objectives; influence and align stakeholders by tailoring communication to the appropriate level of detail.
4. Creates executive-level deliverables and insights to support strategic assessments, enabling effective decision-making and collaboration among senior leaders and stakeholders.
5. Establish and maintain governance frameworks to monitor performance, track internal and external trends, and enable agile adjustment of strategies.
6. Partner across functions (including Legal, Compliance, Risk Control, Actuarial, Claims, ERM, Operations, Data & Analytics, and Technology) to drive strategic initiatives and address cross-business opportunities and risks.
7. Drive disciplined execution through structured progress reviews, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and accountability for outcomes.
8. Coach and guide team members, fostering accountability and high performance; support talent selection and development for project teams as needed.
9. Analyze complex data and synthesize insights, providing regular updates to leadership and delivering actionable recommendations based on findings.
10. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment between operational execution and business strategy.
11. Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues, recommending mitigation strategies and ensuring timely resolution.
12. Partner with Data & Analytics and Technology teams to define, develop, and manage business requirements for underwriting data, tools, and systems enhancements; establish and maintain strategy monitoring and reporting to track performance, inform decisions, and support continuous improvement.
13. Stays current on trends and developments in functional area of expertise and the insurance industry.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Solid working knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance industry including products, processes, and functional disciplines.
2. Excellent project management skills with ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities seamlessly.
3. Advanced communication and facilitation skills, both written and verbal with proven ability to influence and maintain collaborative relationships.
4. Experience developing and presenting a wide range of content and analysis for various leaders and stakeholders.
5. Ability to bring analytical abilities, disciplined thought process and dynamic problem-solving ability to business challenges and large-scale strategic initiatives.
6. Strong professional acumen, agility, and accountability.
7. Senior level knowledge in consulting and process improvement principles in area of discipline.
8. Uses metrics and information analysis and accesses technology resources as needed.
9. Acts with a sense of urgency to advance priorities of the organization.
10. Helps others to excel through collaboration and building strong relationships.
11. Thinks creatively and uses diverse ideas to solve problems.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
2. Typically, a minimum of ten years related work experience in a combination of advisory, consulting, and/or industry roles.
3. Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance strongly preferred, Commercial Lines expertise is a plus.
I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
