Summary:
This is a full-time exempt position based in Atlanta, GA with a hybrid work schedule, offering flexibility to work both virtually and on-site. The Associate Underwriter II provides underwriting and administrative support to the underwriting team, assists with policy servicing activities, processes endorsements, supports renewal underwriting efforts, and helps ensure quality service to insureds and business partners. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance.
Principal Accountabilities:
Essential Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops relationships with retail agent and wholesale broker customers and represented markets.
- Handles incoming new submissions, including clearance, submission setup, review for additional information, and requests for additional information.
- Works in conjunction with assigned underwriter to assist with rating accounts and creating customer proposals.
- Issues binders, policies, endorsements, and creates associated invoices.
- Handles premium audits and creates associated invoices.
- Handles renewal book of business, including non-renewal legal notification requirements and gathering of renewal information.
- Handles notices of cancellation and any follow-up.
- Handles risk management vendor engagement, follow-up, review of reports, and mid-term handling of items that may arise.
- Handles additional underwriting duties per underwriter request as needed.
- Provides backup and/or overflow assistance to the team as needed.
Desired Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance forms, processes, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance preferred.
Licensing/Certifications:
Insurance industry designations or licensing preferred but not required.

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
