We are seeking a talented individual to join our Executive Benefits team at Mercer as a Summer Intern Analyst. This role will be based in Louisville Kentucky. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Internship program dates are Monday, June 1st - Friday, August 7th, 2026.

THE POSITION: Executive Benefits and Compensation Summer Intern
Mercer's Career practice helps companies design, assess, and execute performance measurement and rewards strategies that reinforce business objectives. We do this by understanding our clients' unique strategies, capabilities, and company cultures, applying our design and analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of global market practices to deliver effective results. Our clients are primarily senior executives and Board members.
We help our clients set total rewards strategies for the broad workforce and executives. We benchmark, design and implement rewards programs for our clients, including compensation structures, incentive/bonus plans, and benefit programs.
Our particular team, based in Louisville, KY, also includes Mercer's national Executive Benefits Group. We align rewards with value-creating business strategies. We also stay abreast of regulatory developments and their implications and monitor global market trends for our clients.
Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of data analysis, project management, and presentation design
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Intellectual curiosity; seeking opportunities to develop new skills
Ability to work in teams and be flexible to work under tight deadlines and changing client needs
Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Progress toward a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, math, accounting, or HR preferred
Status as a currently enrolled student; candidates should have an expected graduation date in the Spring 2027.
Record of top academic achievement (minimum preferred GPA: 3.0/4.0)
We are seeking a candidate who can work with our team in the Louisville office
Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE
Conduct research and analysis to understand industry and organization-specific issues could include: business strategy, corporate performance, compensation and rewards practices and trends, global expansion, and best practices in career management
Collect and examine data relevant to developing solutions in the various practices
Analyze clients' strategic, financial, and organizational information to provide insights for more senior members of the project team
Participate in team brainstorming sessions to develop client recommendations
Prepare client presentations, including recommendations to be presented to boards of directors, executives, senior management, and HR leaders

The applicable hourly rate for this role is $27/hour.
