General:
This position will manage and drive continuous organic revenue growth for Palomar’s Employee Benefits practice. This position involves strategic planning and execution of sales plans and goals in addition to some mentoring/coaching for junior associates in training. This position may require some overnight travel.
Essential Job Functions:
Ø Development and execution of annual sales/marketing and strategic growth plan that includes but is not limited to prospecting of new clients, retention of existing accounts and initiating cross-sell opportunities.
Ø Mentor/Train new associates who will assist with cold-calling and lead generation.
Ø Maintain high level of program knowledge in order to effectively service and provide product information to clients and prospects.
Ø Create, develop and implement customized benefits solutions to present to prospects and clients.
Ø Creates positive relationships with other practices to enhance cross-sell processes and opportunities.
Ø Initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with carriers and general agents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ø Create an atmosphere of high morale and a winning attitude by maintaining high standards of integrity; maintaining high standards of work quality; being enthusiastic and service oriented when dealing with clients, carriers, prospects and other associates; and maintaining the confidentiality of client information.
Ø Self-motivated and self-starter able to work on and execute overall strategy for expanding practice.
Ø Deep knowledge of employee benefits products and services including health, dental and all ancillary lines. Experience with self-funding highly preferred.
Ø Exceptional oral, written and presentation skills
Requirements
Ø Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent sales experience.
Ø Must currently have a state issued Life & Health license
Ø At least 5 years of professional industry sales experience including some coaching/leadership experience.
Ø Must have an acceptable driving record and background check.
Ø Must have documentation to allow travel as required by Federal or State mandate.
