Description and RequirementsRole Value Proposition:
The US Procurement Partnering team is part of the Global Procurement organization. This team combines industry-standard category management and sourcing functions, focusing on collaboration with business partners to develop category strategies, source new business requirements, and manage existing costs and contracts. The Procurement Partnering team is on an exciting transformation journey, aiming to expand spend coverage through renewed relationships, streamlined processes, and enhanced technologies.
We are seeking a highly experienced IT Procurement Principal to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across Software, SaaS, Cloud, Hardware, Consulting, and Telecom categories. The ideal candidate brings deep domain knowledge, proven negotiation expertise, and the ability to partner effectively with IT, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to drive value, reduce risk, and support digital transformation objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute IT sourcing strategies for key spend areas, including enterprise software, cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), telecom services, end-user devices, and data center hardware.
 - Lead contract negotiations with major vendors such as Microsoft, Azure, IBM, Oracle, Cisco, Dell, SAP, Salesforce, and global telecom carriers.
 - Manage the RFx process and competitive sourcing events to drive innovation, cost savings, and improved supplier performance.
 - Collaborate closely with IT, InfoSec, and Legal to align sourcing efforts with business priorities, architecture roadmaps, and compliance requirements.
 - Analyze vendor proposals, conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI assessments, and make sourcing recommendations to senior leadership.
 - Monitor industry trends, licensing model changes, and emerging technologies to inform sourcing strategies and budget planning.
 - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
 - Support governance, audit, and compliance efforts, including software license compliance and data privacy considerations.
 
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, IT, Finance, or related field (MBA or master's degree preferred).
 - 8+ years of progressive sourcing/procurement experience with a strong focus on IT categories.
 - Proven success managing complex negotiations for Software (on-prem and SaaS), Cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS), and/or Telecom agreements.
 - Strong working knowledge of cloud licensing models, enterprise agreements, and commercial terms (e.g., EAs, SOWs, MSA, SLAs).
 - Experience working with cross-functional teams in IT, Legal, Finance, and Security.
 - Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and contract management skills.
 - Proficiency with sourcing and procurement tools (e.g., Zip, SAP Ariba, ServiceNow, Excel, Power BI).
 
Preferred:
- Experience in sourcing for insurance, financial services, or regulated industries.
 - Familiarity with third-party risk management processes and platforms (e.g., Aravo).
 - Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting vendor relationships (e.g., GDPR, NYDFS).
 - Experience supporting procurement transformation initiatives and/or operating model redesign.
 - Familiarity with agile project delivery, cloud transformation, and vendor consolidation strategies.
 - Experience in a global, matrixed organization managing regional and global IT sourcing initiatives.

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $155,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
