Senior Claim Consultant - Construction & Infrastructure - Chicago, ILJoin Aon's Construction & Infrastructure claims team as a Senior Claim Consultant - Construction & Infrastructure based in Chicago. In this client-facing role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our clients, managing and coordinating liability claims with precision and professionalism. You'll play a critical role in evaluating claim details, organizing case information, and ensuring timely communication and resolution.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chicago office.

What the day will look like
Your day begins by reviewing overnight updates on active liability claims, prioritizing those requiring immediate attention. You'll spend much of your time interfacing with clients-answering questions, providing updates, offering strategic guidance, and your workers compensation advocate counterpart to understand client's entire claims profile. Midday might include coordinating with internal Aon teams to resolve broader client inquiries, ensuring clients are connected with the right experts. A large focus of this role will be to advocate for an expanded view of coverage in order to ensure Aon clients receive the broadest policy benefits bargained for in the insurance placement process. You'll also analyze claim trends, prepare reports, and participate in client meetings or strategy sessions. Throughout the day, your focus remains on advocacy, responsiveness, and delivering exceptional service to Aon's Construction & Infrastructure clients.
The duties of this role include:
- Program review for accurate reserving
- Maximizing claims service and advocating for expanded view of coverage
- Advocating for expedited claim resolution
- Ensuring timely return of collateral
- Identifying opportunities to reduce client's total cost of risk
- Collaborating with carriers to reduce client experience modification factor
- Working with risk control colleagues to ensure project safety
- Collaboration with Aon resources for other claims and operational issues
- Collaboration with claims and broking teams to identify optimal coverage forms and match client needs with appropriate coverage terms
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 10+ years of experience working with Liability Claims, with a focus on Construction and/or Infrastructure clients in Illinois and throughout the Midwest.
- Proven client facing skills including effective presentations & communications.
- Effective working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices & processes.
- Proven leadership skills in working with teams and ability to work with clients and to successfully exceed client expectations.
- Proven organization and ability to work with others.
- Experience in resource deployment and utilization management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various levels.
- Successfully operates in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent years of industry experience.
The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
