Our Premium Audit team is currently seeking a Regional Premium Auditor . This is a full time, exempt role. Position is eligible for a fully remote arrangement.POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and detail ‑ oriented Premium Auditor with 3 - 5 years of prior premium audit experience to join our team. The Premium Auditor will be responsible for conducting accurate, timely, and professional audits of policyholders ' records to ensure correct premium calculation and compliance with underwriting and classification guidelines. This role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer ‑ focused approach.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Conduct physical, virtual, and/or phone audits for assigned commercial lines policies (e.g., Workers' Compensation, General Liability).
- Review financial records, payroll documents, tax filings, and business operations to determine proper exposures and classifications.
- Analyze audit findings and prepare clear, well ‑ supported written audit reports.
- Communicate with policyholders, agents, and internal stakeholders to clarify information and resolve audit ‑ related questions.
- Ensure all audits are completed within established timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all audit activities in designated systems or platforms.
- Identify and escalate inconsistent, incomplete, or questionable data as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to promote positive policyholder and agency relationships.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and departmental initiatives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of premium audit experience, preferably in property & casualty insurance.
- Strong understanding of Workers' Compensation and General Liability classifications, rating principles, and audit practices.
- Proficiency in reviewing financial and operational documents, including payroll records, general ledgers, and tax forms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical ‑ thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with audit software, Microsoft Office Suite, or similar tools.
- Experience conducting virtual audits using digital communication tools.
- Familiarity with Nexus Audit platform preferred.
- Experience with multi ‑ state audits and complex business operations.
- APA, CPAN, CPCU, or other insurance-related certifications preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license. Overnight travel may be required.
- Exposure to policyholder operations; for example: extreme noise and heat.
- Ability to work cooperatively.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently outside of an office setting.

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
