Description and RequirementsRole Value Proposition:
The Principal Collaboration Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining collaboration solutions that enable effective communication and collaboration across MetLife. This role requires a deep understanding of collaboration technologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative collaboration solutions that will transform how teams work together. Success in this role requires exceptional technical expertise in collaboration tools and platforms, as well as strong leadership skills. The Principal Collaboration Engineer is responsible for driving the design and implementation of collaboration solutions, ensuring they align with business goals and meet user needs. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, vendors, and business stakeholders, in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of collaboration solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Video Conferencing technologies, Cisco Webex, and Virtual Whiteboarding technologies.
- Develop and maintain architecture and infrastructure for collaboration platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand collaboration needs and provide strategic recommendations for technology solutions.
- Establish and enforce collaboration standards, policies, and best practices across the organization.
- Oversee the integration of collaboration tools with other enterprise systems and applications.
- Monitor and analyze collaboration tool usage and performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Lead and mentor a team of collaboration engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in collaboration engineering. With at least 2 years in a lead technical role.
- 5+ years hands-on technical expertise in collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Video Conferencing, Zoom, Cisco Webex, and Miro.
- 1+ years of experience in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell)
- Experience with cloud-based collaboration solutions and integration with enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and security protocols.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale technology initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative and efficient solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Suggested 8 years of experience in hands-on technical expertise in collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Video Conferencing, Zoom, Cisco Webex, and Miro.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Azure.

The expected salary range for this position is $121,100 - $145,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
