Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Paul Moss, LLC, a fast growing, innovative company in the insurance vertical, is seeking an experienced leader to be a key part of an executive team that is using technology to change the insurance industry.

As COO, you will drive results by unleashing creativity and accountability in a performance-oriented culture among a group of diverse and talented individuals. Your experience with other fast-growing technology and/or insurance companies will help you craft efficient and effective systems for the entire organization while taking direct responsibility for operations and vendor management. You will also successfully run day-to-day Agency Sales operations in order to allow the CEO to focus on business development, thought leadership, and evangelizing the vision. We need a leader who will be the Yin to the CEO’s Yang via trust and respect. Our new COO will truly have the CEOs back and together they will take the organization to new heights.

The ideal candidate will have an execution mindset with a bias towards action. The COO must have a strong personal accountability for results, a commitment to teamwork in support of the company’s success, adherence to ethical business practices, and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with an ability to prioritize and drive actions to closure.

Responsibilities/Qualifications/Essential Job Functions

Reporting to the CEO, the COO will lead the operations and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Drive the company's operating capabilities of the Lead Gen and Insurance Agency divisions to grow revenues, surpass customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Working with the CTO, develop and implement a strategic plan for a rapid scaling of operational capacity through automation, process improvements or other productivity measures while maintaining high quality standards, high reliability and cost effective operations.
  • Manage the daily performance of the operations team. Use innovative meeting and project planning practices to drive focus and results.
  • Provide leadership and inspiration to those under your command to encourage maximum performance and dedication; Develop and lead the performance management process that evaluates progress against goals.
  • Bias for action - enjoys working to overcome challenges, not afraid to lead and take unpopular stands when necessary.
  • Strategic vision and agility- think strategically, identify changing realities and adapt the organizational plan in a timely, efficient basis.

Requirements

Skills and Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree. An MBA or Master’s a plus
  • 10+ years’ experience leading marketing, sales, and operations management in the insurance industry
  • Expertise in scaling for growth and profitability
  • Expertise in defining and scaling operational processes, both internally and with external partners
  • Managing multiple projects in a manner that focuses the team and drives results
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
