Job Summary:

As a Commercial Lines Agent, you will handle the day-to-day servicing of commercial insurance accounts, including quoting, binding, and policy management. You'll work independently while providing exceptional customer service, with some front desk duties such as answering phones and greeting clients. This role requires strong knowledge of commercial lines products and the ability to build lasting client relationships in a client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service commercial insurance accounts, including renewals, endorsements, claims assistance, and policy issuance.
• Provide quotes and recommendations based on client needs, utilizing our agency management system.
• Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with a friendly and direct approach.
• Assist with personal lines accounts as needed (experience in personal lines is a plus).
• Perform front desk tasks, including greeting visitors and managing incoming calls.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Participate in professional development, including annual branch meetings and continuing education (paid by the agency).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial lines insurance; 5+ years preferred.
• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License from the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) required. Must have completed pre-licensing education and passed the exam.
• Life Insurance License and/or Medicare Supplement License is a strong plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree not necessary.
• Experience with carriers such as Erie, Progressive, National General, or Liberty Mutual is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in agency management systems and strong technology skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, direct personality; comfortable with daily client interactions.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
• Must be based in North Carolina or willing to relocate; preference for candidates living nearby for long-term commitment.
• Must be able to work in-office. This is not a remote position.
