About the Role
This is not your average insurance desk job. As our Personal Lines Flood Product Manager, you'll be the authoritative voice on flood risk — owning the full product lifecycle from strategic design through profitable performance. You'll bridge the worlds of NFIP, private flood markets, carrier partnerships, and distribution channels — all within a fast-moving MGA environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead design, development, and ongoing management of personal lines flood products — NFIP Write-Your-Own (WYO) and private flood programs
Define product positioning, pricing structures, coverage terms, and eligibility guidelines aligned with MGA business objectives
Monitor emerging flood risk trends, climate data, and competitor offerings to identify gaps and growth opportunities
Negotiate program terms, capacity, and profit-sharing arrangements with carrier partners and reinsurers
Underwriting & Pricing Oversight
Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to develop and refine rating models, guidelines, and risk appetite frameworks
Analyze loss experience, exposure data, and reinsurance treaty performance to inform pricing actions and product adjustments
Oversee policy form development and ensure compliance with FEMA, NFIP, and applicable state and federal regulations
Distribution & Agent Support
Serve as the go-to expert for flood product knowledge, training, and technical guidance for appointed agents and brokers
Develop agent education materials, marketing collateral, and underwriting guides to support distribution partners
Partner with sales to grow flood premium volume and penetration across existing and new channels
Compliance & Regulatory
Ensure all flood products meet state filing requirements and maintain current form and rate approvals across jurisdictions
Stay current with FEMA, NFIP, and Risk Rating 2.0 changes — assess portfolio impact and lead internal adaptation
Liaise with compliance, legal, and carrier partners on regulatory inquiries and filing updates
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track KPIs across the flood portfolio: loss ratios, combined ratios, premium growth, and retention
Prepare management reports and executive presentations on product performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives
Identify adverse trends early and recommend corrective actions with speed and precision
