Who The Reinsurance Treaty Team
A treaty team is responsible for managing and overseeing the treaty agreements between the reinsurer and the ceding companies (Aon's clients). Their work involves several key functions:
Overall, the treaty team plays a vital role in risk management, financial stability, and strategic decision-making within the reinsurance business.
Responsibilities Of An Intern On The Reinsurance Treaty Team
- Support Treaty Negotiations: Assist in the negotiation process of treaty agreements by preparing relevant data, conducting market research, and contributing to discussions with ceding companies.
- Risk Analysis: Collaborate with team members to analyze risk portfolios, review historical loss data, and understand the risk appetite of our organization.
- Documentation Management: Help maintain accurate and organized documentation of treaty agreements, amendments, and endorsements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Relationship Building: Engage with ceding companies and internal stakeholders to build strong working relationships, addressing inquiries and providing support as needed.
- Performance Monitoring: Contribute to the monitoring of treaty performance by assisting in the collection and analysis of relevant metrics, supporting reporting efforts to management.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to develop your understanding of reinsurance principles and practices.
How this opportunity is different
This is a 10-week paid program across various U.S. offices with access to leaders through weekly learning sessions and a chance to interact with colleagues globally. You will engage in challenging client projects with the benefit of continuous formal and informal feedback and the enjoyment of social outings and community service activities throughout your internship!
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Ability to collaborate well with others and to interact with variety of audiences.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify problems and solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products, with intermediate proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI; working knowledge of Access is a strong plus.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance concepts is a plus but not required.
Qualifications:
Rising seniors graduating between December 2026 - June 2027 with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Fluent/Native in Spanish.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $21.00 - $23.50 hourly. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
Aon offers a benefits package for temporary and seasonal employees who will work 20 or more hours per week including: medical, dental, and vision insurance at the employee's expense, critical illness insurance, 10 Company holidays per calendar year (paid, if eligible), paid sick leave as provided under state and local law, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions. Eligibility for benefits are governed by the applicable plan documents and policies.
