Description and RequirementsRole Value Proposition:
The MetLife Corporate Functions Data Office is part of the Data and Analytics Organization (D&A) within GTO. Our mission is to implement scalable data solutions for our stakeholders to generate actionable insights. We achieve this by partnering with our D&A teams, Technology, and our Business and functional partners to build and deploy next generation data solutions for MetLife.
We are looking for a Data Analyst who is passionate about data and understanding its lifecycle. The role is based in Cary, NC, Tampa, FL, or NYC, NY, and supports MetLife's commitment to data driven decision making and operational excellence.
This role requires a balance of business acumen and knowledge of data technology and tools, including expertise in analytics, Python, and cloud technologies.
The Data Analyst will work under general direction and contribute to data analysis and solution development in partnership with business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business and functional analysts to support the development of functional and technical requirements documents for production grade data and analytics solutions.
- Understand and analyze end to end business processes and contribute to the creation of data flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and solutions align with documented needs.
- Interact with data architecture, data engineering, data governance, data modeling, data quality, and data science teams to support solution delivery.
- Collaborate with the extended program team and contribute input regarding data solutions and implementation plans.
- Validate and test solutions at various points to help ensure alignment with requirements.
- Provide knowledge sharing and peer support as needed.
- Collaborate with partners from Business, Technology, Operations, and D&A capabilities.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required Skills:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in data analysis.
- Technical proficiency in data profiling, data validation, and data storage/retrieval principles for Azure Databricks, document databases, and relational databases.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent educational qualification.
- Strong communication and structured problem solving skills with the ability to document and explain system flows to both technical and non technical audiences.
- Experience working with business and technical partners.
- Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, and Medallion architecture.
- Experience contributing to solution design and estimation activities.
Preferred:
- Experience in Azure, Databricks, and Workday.
- Experience with Databricks, serverless SQL, Data Governance, and Data Quality.
- Appetite to learn new technologies and innovate.
- Experience working in Agile environments and with cloud platforms.
- Certification in relevant tools or platforms is a plus.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $89,250 - $114,750. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
