Role definition

You will be working closely with the staff of CFC USA’s New York office to disseminate CFC USA’s admitted cyber insurance product to existing and pipeline broker partners.  You will have ownership over low touch underwriting referrals which are not otherwise processed through CFC’s online cyber insurance platform.

You will work closely with cyber underwriting colleagues in London to develop a better understanding of the cyber insurance market, CFC distribution strategy and cross sell initiatives. You will also be working to maintain current broker relationships and to develop new relationships throughout the US in order to drive new business to the admitted insurance product.

Key responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Work within CFC USA’s underwriting appetite and parameters to provide low touch admitted cyber quotes which are not processed within the Connect platform in a timely and professional manner, delivering a best-in-class service to produce quotations within agreed SLAs and underwriting authority parameters ;
  • Facilitate business development including meeting new brokers and clients, raising brokers' and clients’ awareness of products in the process of quoting and binding admitted cyber quotes outside the platform;
  • Educate brokers on the value that the CFC USA admitted platform can offer for their clients and for their brokerage;
  • Explain the features, advantages and benefits of cyber insurance products and coverage enhancements, support product launches and raise awareness of new and existing products;
  • Develop and capitalize on technical knowledge in the SME cyber market, focusing on the analysis of accounts up to $100M in annual revenue;
  • Deal with ad-hoc enquiries from all brokers, including quote requests, coverage questions, and other administrative requests;
  • Manage new business and retention numbers for key broker targets;
  • Attend relevant industry events, both internal and external;
  • Assist with the production of reports and statistics to support the monitoring of team performance;
  • General ad-hoc and administrative duties as directed by the US EVP


Requirements

Skills & Ability

  • Strong work ethic with an ability to operate effectively under pressure;
  • Analytical with excellent logic and critical thinking skills;
  • Strong numerical and communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Confident, self-driven, motivated and compliant with deadlines and targets;
  • Articulate and influential –  strong ability to present to small and large groups, engage the audience and handle questions or challenges;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Fluency with technology platforms and ability to learn and manipulate CFC proprietary systems
  • Team player with a passion for cyber business!

Knowledge & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in a cyber underwriting assistant or broker assistant role
  • Existing relationships in the U.S. cyber insurance community across brokerage communities of all sizes and geographical presence
  • Foundational understanding of other related lines of business, including professional liability, and technology E&O insurance

Education & qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with concentrations in risk management, business, finance, technology, and/or accounting particularly advantageous but not required
  • A current and valid P&C insurance broker and/or agent license is preferred but not required
