Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Compensation Center of Expertise (COE) at Marsh. This role will be based in New York City, NY office in the US. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.The Compensation Leader for Business & Client Services (BCS) partners closely with the Chief Information and Operations Officer (CIOO), BCS Leadership team, and BCS Chief People Officer to deliver compensation advisory and solutions that meet business needs. The role will lead the design, development, and implementation of global reward strategies for BCS that align with and support Marsh's overall business objectives and purpose: building the confidence to thrive through the power of perspective.
As the leader of the BCS Compensation Team, you will oversee broad-based compensation programs, incentive plans, and reward insights. The Compensation COE collaborates with other teams in our People Function to provide compensation strategy, design, and subject matter expertise to the organization ensuring alignment between people and business strategies. As part of the broader People Experience team, comprising all of our HR Centers of Expertise, this role forms part of the Compensation COE Leadership team and reports to the Global Marsh Compensation Leader.
We will count on you to:
- Act as a trusted client advisor and consultant to BCS, delivering best-in-class compensation advisory and solutions to the Chief Information and Operations Officer (CIOO), BCS Leadership team, and BCS Chief People Officer.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of global reward strategies for BCS that align with and support Marsh's overall business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with People Function colleagues including other People Experience COEs, People Partners, Finance and other key stakeholders to understand and diagnose strategic compensation priorities, define reward requirements and ensure appropriate partnership, engagement, and alignment on delivering solutions.
- Areas of focus include reward program design, annual pay review and associated budgets/pools, Executive Committee updates and materials, compensation program effectiveness, business initiatives (e.g. M&A, group consolidations) as well as leading a team of specialized reward professionals.
- Drive enterprise-wide compensation initiatives and continuous improvement projects through sponsorship, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance program effectiveness and operational efficiency of Marsh's reward programs and processes.
- Monitor external market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive practices to identify gaps and opportunities, ensuring Marsh's compensation programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with global standards.
- Apply a consultative skillset to reward-related themes, turning complex topics into an integrated narrative that aligns with Marsh's purpose and commitments.
- Lead, develop, coach and mentor the members of the BCS Compensation Team: Provide guidance on team objectives and provide constructive feedback on performance on an on-going basis.
- 10+ years experience in total rewards and compensation strategy, with a proven track record of leading global reward programs and advising senior leadership.
- Strong consultative and client-centric mindset, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across diverse, global stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualization) and experience interpreting complex data sets to inform compensation decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead, develop, and mentor specialized compensation teams, while working collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic, and culturally diverse environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience leading compensation strategy and programs in a complex, global organization.
- Demonstrated success driving change management and continuous improvement initiatives within total rewards.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
