Communications ConsultantAre you interested in a communications position that allows you to work as a content writer, project manager, and client consultant? Do you have a knack for explaining complex concepts in easy-to-understand language across multiple platforms?
Aon Consumer Benefit Solutions is hiring a Communications Consultant in a hybrid role with the flexibility to work from home and our Hammonton, NJ offices. We are willing to consider working virtually for a strong candidate.

What the day will look like
Communications Consultants develop open enrollment communications campaigns for clients' annual benefits enrollment periods. Materials range from posters and postcards to benefit guides, microsites, videos and more. A typical day includes 60% content development, 20% project management, and 20% client consulting. Responsibilities include:
- Attend client meetings and lead discussion of communications initiatives with a consultative approach
- Develop and update various benefit communication materials including benefit guides, educational inserts, and other materials as directed
- Manage various projects from start to finish while coordinating deadlines and prioritizing tasks for multiple projects with short turnaround times
- Prepare content, while being responsible for edit rounds and proofreading finalized materials
- Provide product education and assist with special communications projects as needed
- Assist in reviewing other materials and supporting colleagues as necessary
- Continuously discover and implement new functions and industry best practices to maximize efficiency
How this opportunity is different
Communications Consultants (CC) work autonomously as the communications subject matter experts for their clients. They manage open enrollment campaigns from design and content creation to distribution and web development. Yet they have the support of the full-service communications team including production, design, and web development. CCs also collaborate with Health Solutions and Account Management to tailor campaigns to meet clients' needs and reach their employee populations.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 3+ years of experience in content writing or project management; HR and benefits content experience preferred
- Ability to organize and simultaneously handle multiple projects while working as an integral part of a team, cultivating relationships, and working independently or with minimal direction
- Effective client service expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think critically and work consultatively across departments and with clients
- Experience delivering accurate, timely and engaging messages, through print and online channels
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related degree
Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
