Description
Our Special Investigation Unit is currently seeking an Analyst to join our team. This is a full-time, exempt role with a hybrid work schedule.POSITION OVERVIEW: The SIU Analyst is responsible for the recognition of potential fraud within claims and policies that alert to the SIU through Adjuster referrals, Predictive Models, or outside sources. Upon receipt of a referral the Analyst will conduct additional research to determine if further investigation within the SIU is warranted. The Analyst is responsible for assignment of cases to the SIU Investigators and Medical Specialists. This person may be called to testify in cases involving criminal and/ or civil litigation.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
• Respond to assigned referrals by developing a logical plan of action, conducting comprehensive online research including internet, social media, public records and government database searches.
• Experience in identifying and validating red flags or other indicators of fraud within a claim/policy.
• Triage of SIU referrals assigning cases to SIU investigators and Medical Specialists based on specialty and geographical location.
• Communicate effectively with adjusters, customers and external partners.
• Responsible for the development and collection of evidentiary material documenting in a detailed manner to support the investigation.
• Able to exhibit extreme sense of urgency, deliver quality work, meet tight deadlines, and handle a high volume of work.
• Work with confidential sources for evidence of suspected fraud
• Develop and maintain contacts internal and external to the SIU process, such as Law Enforcement, NICB personnel, other Company SIU staff and Fraud Bureau Personnel.
• Participate in adjuster fraud awareness training, as required.
• Attend SIU analytical, investigative, and other technical training to improve and develop skills.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience. SIU, P&C Insurance claims, or fraud analysis experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience conducting extensive research using a variety of tools including internet search, social media search (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), public record search and use of industry standard vendor software
• Proficiency in using computers and associated software (MS Office, PBI, Dashboards)
• Ability to use Hanover Guidewire Claim Systems
• Ability to put people first, working toward goals that are innovative, meaningful, that add value and in the end are always collaborative
• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
• Knowledge of customer's needs and good faith claim practices
• Easily adapts to new, different or changing situations, requirements, or competing priorities and deadlines

• Applies knowledge of Company products and processes to understand key customer issues and needs
• Highly articulate and able to provide clear and concise direction

• Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Desired skills and experience:
• Previous experience working in SIU /Fraud detection in the Property and Casualty Insurance field preferred
• Knowledge of claim adjusting and policy coverages across multiple lines of business preferably ABI, CGL, PIP and WC line if business
• Experience with Internet Deep Web Search and OSINT -Open Source Intelligence Techniques a plus.
• Technology savvy, comfortable with and adaptable to new technology and business tools, aggressive learner committed to self-development
• Persistent, persevering and results driven
• Skilled at logical and creative thinking and ability to test information
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Familiarity with investigative techniques, such as interviewing and evidence collection
Physical demands & work environment:
• Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Required to work on-site as needed
• Ability to travel as necessary
• Ability to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week
• Ability to work in a fast paced, changing or stressful environment
• Ability to perform work in a noisy/loud work environment

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
