Description and RequirementsAVP, Business Transformation
Role Overview :
The AVP, Enterprise Change accelerates transformation across the enterprise by identifying high value opportunities, redesigning end-to-end processes, and deploying modern technologies-including AI-to enhance customer and employee experience, drive growth, reduce risk, and strengthen operational efficiency. This leader partners across business, operations, technology, and senior leaders including the Executive Leadership Team ( ELT ) to shape scalable solutions and mobilize the organization toward MetLife's New Frontier ambitions
The person will be part of a global team that forms the connective tissue across technology, strategy , the business and functions, and acts as a change agent and enabler of transformation.
Key Responsibilities - What you'll lead:
Transformation Leadership
- Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that enhance experience, digitize workflows, eliminate risk, and unlock measurable business value.
- Prioritize and curate high impact opportunities across global markets to drive scale and consistency across global markets
- Bring an outside in perspective, leveraging business process reengineering, design thinking, and contemporary problem-solving techniques.
Process and Solution Design
- Conduct end-to-end assessments to simplify processes, modernize experiences, and maximize automation.
- Design integrated experience, process, data, and technology solutions that apply the latest AI and emerging technologies.
- Build clear, strategic business cases -linking near term wins with long- term wins and enterprise value.
Execution & Sustainability
- Develop implementation plans, sequencing, and resource models across business, operations, data, and technology.
- Define success metrics, measurement approaches, and sustainability plans to ensure lasting impact.
- Drive disciplined execution with a commercial mindset and accountability to senior leadership .
Stakeholder Engagement
- Advise, influence, and align senior leaders across disciplines.
- Develop clear, executive ready materials that simplify complexity and galvanize action.
- Foster cohesion across organizational silos and strengthen enterprise ways of working.
Methodology & Capability Building
- Refine the enterprise transformation methodology and playbook, embedding best practices across markets.
- Promote a culture of speed, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile - Who you are:
Experience & Expertise
- 10-15+ years leading large scale transformation, operational excellence, process reengineering, or technology strategy , preferably in the insurance industry
- Demonstrated success driving enterprise change with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of technology, data, AI, and emerging innovation trends.
Leadership Skills
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating clarity where none exists.
- Enterprise mindset with the ability to break down silos and build alignment.
- Executive presence and excellent communication skills that simplify complexity , including ability to create succinct presentations and gain stakeholder buy-in
- High EQ with the ability to influence, inspire followership, and create momentum.
Education & Other
- Experience in design- led thinking preferred
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $180K to $220K. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
