Description
Our Claims team is currently seeking an Auto PIP Adjuster - MACPThis is a full time, Hybrid work model, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Michigan Assigned Claims Plan PIP Adjuster. Responsible for the investigation, negotiation and resolution of claims in accordance with policy provisions, best practices and jurisdictional requirements. Includes the input of claim data and guiding insureds and claimants through the claim process and options.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Must have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits
- Works within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity
- Uses discretion and independent judgment in claim handling.
- Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of fully competent practitioner
- Identifies possibly suspicious claims
- Investigates, analyzes, evaluates and negotiates personal and/or commercial lines claims of minimal to moderate complexity
- Responsible for all aspects of each claim, including informal hearings, arbitrations and small claims litigation and maintaining a high level of productivity, confidentiality and customer service.
- Implement and coordinate the most effective management techniques to mitigate loss and expense payments.
- Settlement and reserving authority levels are moderate.
- Take recorded statements
- Work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate settlement
- May be required to have and maintain sufficient home-based internet connection
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with PIP Michigan Assigned Claims Plan (MACP)
- Typically has 1-3 years' experience
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Appropriate understanding of applicable Statutes, Regulations and Case Law
- Thinks critically, anticipates, recognizes, identifies and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner
- Operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions
- Computer experience (MS Office, Excel, Word, etc)
- Proficient using a paperless Claims System

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
