The Application Developer Lead Consultant provides technical leadership, code and design analysis, and supports project planning for complex enterprise applications. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack solutions using Java-based microservices and Angular front-end frameworks.
The Lead Consultant is responsible for developing scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs, along with responsive UI applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. They guide architecture decisions, review code and design, and ensure best practices in microservices development, API integration, and modern UI engineering.
This role mentors and supports other developers by conducting code, design, and testing reviews, while ensuring high-quality and maintainable software delivery. The Lead Consultant works closely with business partners to identify requirements and design technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce compliance risks, and address process bottlenecks.
The position requires hands-on involvement across the entire application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support. The Lead Consultant may also be required to deliver tactical solutions within short timelines to address urgent business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with detailed project estimation and milestone planning. Review and validate estimates provided by team members and collaborate with project managers to improve estimation accuracy and delivery planning.
- Design and develop complex application modules using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and Angular, following established coding standards and documentation practices.
- Conduct and facilitate design and code reviews, provide constructive feedback, recommend improvements, and ensure adherence to development standards, architecture guidelines, and quality benchmarks.
- Analyze and evaluate business, functional, and technical requirements, including considerations for security, recovery, scalability, and audit compliance.
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive solutions to minimize recurrence of problems.
- Define and manage the application support and technical assistance processes, ensuring timely resolution of complex technical issues.
- Lead testing and quality assurance reviews, track and resolve complex defects, and support planning and execution of functional and integration testing in collaboration with Quality Control (QC) teams.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for application developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support on development best practices and technical challenges.
- Ensure that project change management processes are followed and that enhancements are appropriately prioritized, developed, tested, and deployed with proper documentation.
- Contribute to defining the development approach, tools, frameworks, and architectural standards that best meet business and technology requirements.
• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
