We are currently seeking a talented Auto Physical Damage Appraiser for our Orlando, FL territory.
As a Auto Physical Damage Appraiser for USAA you will serve as a field customer contact representative for USAA. Provides claims service and technical expertise regarding physical damage losses. Appraises, evaluates, negotiates and equitably settles first and third party total or repairable losses in accordance with terms and conditions of corporate guidelines, policy contracts, and existing insurance laws and regulations.
JOB DUTIES:
- Documents vehicular damages to determine reparability and processes claim payments as appropriate and necessary, using automated and manual systems.
- Applies knowledge of local laws, parts distribution, sublet repair vendors, and trade relationships to assist in maintaining cost control while providing a positive USAA image.
- Evaluates, negotiates and settles total losses and completes necessary documentation. May be responsible for moving salvage and securing titles and other transfer of ownership documents.
- Assists in the re-inspection process and mentoring of co-workers as directed
- May be called upon to assist in investigating alleged or suspected cases of auto physical damage fraud including testimony as a witness or expert in official proceedings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant physical damage appraisal experience or 12 months as an Assoc Appraiser
- Working knowledge of estimating and total loss evaluation systems
- Current knowledge of auto repair process
- Computer literate in a Windows operating environment
- Acquisition and maintenance of applicable appraisal/adjuster's license
- Must meet all USAA safety driving requirements; Driving record will be verified through MVR
- Ability to regularly lift 30. lbs.
PREFERRED:
- 3-5 years of prior insurance experience preferred.
- Current Florida Adjuster's license.
- I-CAR Platinum certification or ability to obtain with 1 year.
- ASE Certification.
- Expert knowledge in CCC Pathways system.
- Mechanical/ Body repair background.
- Ability to drive, bend, stoop and lift.
