Description:
The position is located in Bridgewater, New Jersey within the Product Management Department.
The purpose of the department is to develop, implement and monitor programs that support Allstate New Jersey’s efforts to acquire and retain a profitable personal property and casualty book of business. The core business functions include profitable market share growth, strategic use of capital, and consistent earnings growth
The scope of this position is to promote and ensure quality work within the business unit. Duties include the effective management of processes and personnel in order to support Client needs and Company initiatives. Knowledge of key trend indicators within the business unit functions is needed to establish process improvement and to maintain required compliance standards. Emphasis is placed on the ability to provide leadership, trend analysis, strategic direction and a complex understanding of team/department needs and goals.
The individual will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve business unit processes and procedures.
- Analyzing the effectiveness, quality and impact of processes as they relate to Countrywide, ANJ or Product Management Team.
- Providing leadership through interpreting information and providing strategies and guidance to other employees with the Product Management Team, ANJ, or Home Office
- Supporting the education/communication of Product Management policies, practices, and principles.
- Managing Human Resources
Qualifications:
1. Communication - both moderate written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to deliver complex messages in a clear concise manner.
2. Presentation Skills - must be able to present material to large and small audiences, must have excellent public speaking skills.
3. Analysis - must be able to utilize various systems to identify and analyze trends and recommend appropriate actions to drive results.
4. Decision Making – recommends actions for defined processes or programs. Explains and discusses complex information.
5. Organizational / Time Management - must be able to juggle various projects and deadlines at the same time
Experience Required: (type of experience and number of years required)
5 or more years experience in personal lines property and casualty insurance; underwriting experience is preferred; supervisory experience is preferred
Computer Proficiency: (computer skills needed to do the job)
Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, Access (preferred)
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
