The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is currently seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to join it's Portland Branch.
The Underwriter will manage a minimum of $9 million commercial book of business. Lines of business include package, automobile, umbrella, international, and workers compensation.
The individual will be responsible for achieving department goals for growth, rate, pricing, retention and profitability. Solicit and qualify potential new lines. Manage retention of renewals. Conduct aggressive agency and/or insured visitation and conduct presentations as part of the acquisition process. Develop and maintain a dynamic prospect list with sufficient prospects to meet and exceed new business goals. Build and maintain strong agency relationships to promote Chubb as the market of choice by developing strong relationships with producers, account managers and CSR's.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in multi-line underwriting. They will know how to build and maintain productive and dynamic relationships. Candidate should be able to demonstrate success in networking, negotiating, building strong relationships with customers and providing exceptional customer service. Candidate should be able to analyze risks, prioritize the gathering of underwriting data, and clearly communicate a well thought-out underwriting approach. Candidate needs to be able to organize his/her work well and utilize multiple internal and external resources in an efficient manner. Candidate must show that they can work cohesively with service staff, loss control and claims.
