The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is currently seeking an Underwriter to join the Group Benefits team in its San Francisco office.
The Underwriter will:
Operate as part of a team that consists of both underwriters and sales staff. Responsible for the achievement of established goals for growth/retention, profit, producer management; and total quality service. Major duties include: individual account analysis, new line, endorsement, and renewal underwriting; to establish and maintain positive day to day relationships with assigned producers; to monitor performance by analyzing quality, volume and mix of business; to work in concert with other team members to aggressively solicit new business, develop book conversion opportunities, and implement programs to improve renewal retention; to create a competitive edge in the market place through knowledge of Chubb's products and services and the ability to effectively market our value added strategy; to adhere to departmental added strategy; to adhere to departmental services procedures and workflow.
Education
A four-year college degree or equivalent business experience required.
Skills
Prefer 5 years of Group and Individual Accident underwriting experience including Travel, Voluntary, Carve-out and Special Risk business. The candidate must have strong communication, analytical, time management and organizational skills. The candidate must have familiarity with A&H products, markets and distribution. Working knowledge of personal computer and applicable Microsoft software including Excel, Word and Access.
