Currently, Chubb is seeking a CCM Recreational Marine Underwriter for either the New York City or Los Angeles office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This CCM Recreational Marine Underwriter Position is accountable for:
•Financial performance, including profit, rate, retention and growth of a $52M renewal book of Recreational Marine lines of business and managing a multi-year in-force book of $12 million
•Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources and developing and executing a new business growth strategy including developing prospects. New business expectation of $4M
•Successful market penetration and broker management including building, maintaining and managing producer and customer relationships (multi state: will include travel)
•Developing broker strategy and goals with continual monitoring of progress
•Identifying cross sell opportunities within Chubb products and services
•Soliciting, selecting and analyzing risk within Chubb Wholesale Insurance guidelines and ensuring proper documentation
•Developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business, renewals and actively identifying account rounding opportunities
•Meeting with producers and new and renewal customers to give sales presentations; including product education and new product roll out
•Collaborating with Underwriters, Operations, Claims, Marketing and home office Product Management
•Consistently meeting service standards
•Collecting and sharing industry intelligence with team; including trending and development
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
•Solid knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices, a solid understanding and experience in package, automobile and umbrella business
•Knowledge of Recreational Marine Insurance would be an asset but not a pre-requisite
•Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling new and renewal business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines
•Strong analytical skills including financial analysis
•Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
•Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
•Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners; including insurance Broker/Agents, insured's, etc.
•Experience developing and executing on marketing plans and prospects; ability to rapidly adjust strategy based on market trends
•Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment
•Sound, balanced and timely decision making skills
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
Education and Experience
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
•Minimum 3 years of experience underwriting in a multi-line environment, Recreational Marine background preferred
